After I got back from the feeding frenzy that’s called Black Friday shopping, I got a little depressed.  This year, I made the bulk of my Christmas presents.  They’re not much, but their made with love.  When I got home and later heard that a man was trampled to death at a Walmart in Long Island.   Is this what Christmas has come to?  Trampling people to death because we can’t get into the store fast enough to get our new flat screen tv? Then I get home and realize that I’ve got a ton of stuff that I hardly even know I have and why I have it.  The whole thing was a bit depressing.  And to add  to that, I decided to sit down and figure out my finances for the rest of the year and the beginning of next and realized that I just couldn’t afford to get a tree this year for Christmas.  It sounds strange but getting a Christmas tree last year made it a little less lonely.  That Christmas tree reminds me of my family and that, in a few short weeks I’ll be home with them.  I like getting my Christmas tree at the Dunshee House. the proceeds from the Christmas tree sales go back to them.  And I’d rather spend a couple bucks extra and see it go to a worthy cause instead of going cheap, having all the needles fall off by the time I get home and have the money go to big business.
