Yesterday I went to see the Red Sox play the Mariners with a friend of mine.  I got down there early to check things out and pick up our tickets at will call.  I also decided that for $20 I would get myself a Youkilis  tshirt.  So I went back to wait for my friend to show up and I noticed something… there were more Sox fans than Mariners fans.  Shortly after that my friend showed up we headed into the stadium to our seats.  Pretty darn good seats, I might add.  Right on the first base line.  Youk was out last night, so we made do with Casey.  The game started, and I have to admit the first half of the game was a little slow.  Then Lugo got thrown out, then Francona got thrown out.  Then we had a game!   It was a nailbiter until… Timlin.  I’ve got to be honest, Timlin needs to retire.  I think he’s working for everyone but the Red Sox.  Ugh.  Game over.  He pretty much ran off the mound once he realized that he lost it for us.

Oh well.  They’ll be back in July.

This morning I went into Starbucks to get my morning latte and breakfast sandwich. As I was walking out, my hands are full and I’m heading for the door as this woman is coming in. She looks at me and looks at my brand new Red Sox shirt, then says, “Oh you’re a red sox fan… I’m a yankees fan. I’m gonna close the door on you.” Then she proceed to pull the door closed, blocking me from leaving until the door was completely closed! I just looked at her in amazement. Then I said, “seriously? You’re going to be that rude over a t-shirt of a baseball team?”

Honestly, I like the Red Sox, but I realize it’s just a game.  Get over it lady.
