I spent a good part of the weekend fixing up the deck.  It’s almost summertime and that’s where I plan on spending a good portion of my downtime.  So I fixed the cat fence.  This way I don’t have to break my neck trying to climb over it.  Now I’ve got a little gate that I can lock and unlock.

I also spent the better part of the weekend looking for an inexpensive adirondack chair.  Apparently that is next to impossible.  But I did score at Joanns.  They had unfinished chairs that you have to put together yourself.  Perfect!  I’m pretty handy.  And it was on sale for $35!  I splurged and bought the footstool too.

I went to Ikea in the search for the perfect chair.  They were having their “no tax” sale.  I picked up a few lanterns for the deck and a super cheap trellis thing.  After that I hit a few other places and picked up a few plants – a flowering Jasmine, a peony, a strawberry plant, sweet basil, rosemary and a few seed packets for some herbs.  I planted them, put the chair together, did a little decorating and voila!  The deck is almost finished!

I finally finished all that this evening.  So I went out and got me something to eat.  I went to Uwajimaya and got some sushi.  And I found the best drink ever…. OK, the packaging and the name make it for me.

That’s American Coffee. It takes like coffee – in a can.  I also picked up some Kombucha.  It smells like vinegar and it taste like vinegar with a bit of cherry flavoring in it.  And to me vinegar smells like farts.  So it felt like I was drinking cherry flavored farts.  So it’s safe to say I won’t be drinking that stuff again.
